Sun Poker software is excellent. I found the game client sufficiently responsive, very intuitively easy to use and easy on the eyes. Everything worked well, it was a pleasure to play on. Sun Poker have all the usual extras like chat, player notes and statistics, without cluttering it up with the unnecessary. The Sun Poker lobby was a snap to use. Very easy to get where I wanted to go, and plenty of game information.
Sun Poker offers a good variety of games and limits. Most of the typical standard games are offered, Holdem, Stud and Omaha , with the exception of no hi-lo in stud There is a good tournament schedule at Sun Poker with a good mix of satellites and an occasional free roll thrown in the mix.
Sun Poker Limits range from 0.15/0.25 to 150/300 all in currencies of USD. Euros and Pounds. More specifically, limit holdem ranges from 0.25/0.50 to 150/300, Pot limit and no limit games have blinds ranging from 0.15/0.25 to 25/50. Limit Omaha hi, ranges from 0.25/0.50 to 100/200. Omaha hi pot limit has blinds that range from 0.15/0.25 to 25/50. Omaha 8 or better limit games range from 0.25/0.50 to 20/40, Omaha pot limit 8 or better has blinds that range from 0.15/0.25 to 5/10. Stud has limits ranging from 1/2 to 20/40. Sun Poker holdem games are offered head up with limit, pot limit and no limit variations with limits that range from 0.25/0.50 to 100/200.
Sun poker tournaments are offered as multi table scheduled events and as single table sit and goes. The Sun Poker sit and goes are ten or six handed with buys that range from 3.00 + 30 to 60.00 +6.00. The regularly scheduled Sun Poker multi tables events have buys that range from 2.00 to 300.00. It was not clear if Sun Poker offers rebuy and add on tournaments.
Sun Poker Promotions and bonuses are good. Sun Poker offer a deposit and reload bonus, 100% Match Bonus up to $50 on your first deposit. An extra $100 in free chips will automatically be added to your account after you have made a second deposit of $100 or more (available each month). The Sun Poker rakeback offer of up to 34% is in addition to all bonus offers.
Sun Poker traffic was very slow on the Saturday night at 10 PM when this review was written. About 1200 players, I was hard pressed to figure out were they all were. Tournaments were being cancelled because they could not meet the minimum, middle and small limit holdem games had a few players, the rest of the place was pretty much a ghost site.
This may be good or bad, they offer the player the choice of Euros, pounds or USD to play in. Good if you like to play in your countries currency, bad perhaps because they offer games in all these currencies, and it may simply dilute the strength of the games even further.
There are no details on the shuffle beyond the usual assurances written by marketing. Read why this is bad.
Sun Poker lobby has a free roll tournament schedule in the lobby, but it was totally void of any scheduled events.
